Exploring Deep Cove
By Vy Dang, international student from Vietnam studying at Burnaby South Secondary School
I feel really lucky and thankful for having a chance to study in such a brilliant city like Vancouver. Not only is it a bustling, modern city, but it also has countless breathtaking views, such as Deep Cove. I heard of Deep Cove when I first arrived in Canada, but I did not have a chance to go there until the end of the school year. The scene was exceptionally beautiful. I really enjoyed to serene and peaceful atmosphere around Deep Cove even though it was a Saturday afternoon.
I spent three hours walking around Deep Cove, and the experience was excellent. In Vietnam, I live in a city within land, so I am not really familiar with the sea. However, while living in Vancouver, I have been to English Bay and Deep Cove, which give me lots if fascinating memories about the sea. After all the stress at school, it was such an ideal way to unwind by the sea.
After the walk, I went to a small café nearby, and it was the best afternoon ever. I have seen more sides of Vancouver throughout the journey. When I was in Vietnam, I thought it was a busy city like Hanoi. However, it is a perfect combination of urban life and nature. I cannot wait to experience more in Vancouver, and I want to thank my parents for having given the most valuable opportunity to explore the world.
