Study in BC Contest

StudyinBC is launching its 6th Annual StudyinBC Contest, where you get the chance to share how you study, play and have fun in British Columbia! When you submit a piece of content your name is entered into a draw to win an iPad! Content categories include photos and blog posts. The more content you submit, the greater the chance you have to win! So what are you waiting for? Students can submit as many entries as they like. There are no restrictions on the number of submissions per day as long as it adheres to contest rules. *StudyinBC and the StudyinBC Contest are administered by the British Columbia Council for International Education.

Contest Eligibility and Rules

1.    You must be an international student or alumni from a:

  • Public or independent high school in BC
  • Public or private, EQA-designated, language institution
  • Public or private, EQA-designated, post-secondary institution
  • Click here to check if your your school is EQA-designated

2.    You must be over the age of 18 at the time of entry or have a parent/legal guardian complete this consent form.
3.    Submitted content must be your original work.

Submit Blogposts


1 blogpost and 4 photos = 5 contest entries

1. Upload in PDF or Word Doc format
2. 200-500 words
3. Write on topics related to your experience studying in BC. Click here for tips on how to write your blogpost.
4. Does not need to be professionally written
5. Attach a minimum of 4 high quality photos to illustrate your blogpost
6. You can enter daily to increase your chances of winning

  • Content must be unique. Submitting the same content will not count as an additional entry.

4 photos with captions = 1 contest entry

1. Each entry must include 4 high quality photos that focus on you, your study environment and/or your experience in BC
2. For each photo, please describe what’s happening and where you took the photo in the contest form
3. Upload in JPG or PNG format
4. You can enter daily to increase your chances of winning

Photos: What are we looking for?

1. Don’t know what photos to share? You can respond to one of the following themes:

  • BC Seasons (summer, spring, fall, winter)
  • Community Life
  • Holidays and Festivals
  • Nature and Surroundings
  • School Life
  • Sports of BC
  • Taste of BC (cuisine, favourite food, etc.)
  • Traveling in BC

2. Photos must be non-blurry. They do not need to be professional or edited. Good quality photos taken with your phone are accepted.

All prints, video and writing will grant the British Columbia Council for International Education (BCCIE) permission to display and publish all entries in print materials and online (BCCIE, StudyinBC and BCSA website and social media platforms). By entering the StudyinBC contest, you will be giving British Columbia Council for International Education and its key programs permission to use your photos, blogs and video for future marketing and promotional purposes. If including people and subjects in your photograph, please ensure you have their consent to use them for your image for these purposes. If the winner currently resides outside of Canada, he or she is responsible for all applicable taxes, duties and fees for receiving the grand prize shipment.
