My Experience Studying in BC

By Brian Moon

If I had one word to describe my experience studying in BC it would have to be AWESOME! I first moved to Vancouver in 2008 for my education at Emily Carr University and the more I live in this city, the more I love it! I take pictures often and most of my photographs are from Granville Island and downtown Vancouver. I’m also a casual runner and run around the Sea Wall in Stanley Park and English Bay. Summer is just fantastic in Vancouver! It’s perfect for any kind of outdoor activity.

My school life at Emily Carr University will be another memorable experience. I am currently in fourth year, which means I will be graduating next year. I’m really going to miss my school life at Emily Carr University and the friends I met here. The Vancouver Sun Run, Radiant Run, BC Lions game, etc. are just some of the fun events I attended during my school life. There are so many things to do during the summer in Vancouver, such as festivals, marathons, and sports events in Vancouver.

The multi-cultural aspect of Vancouver is definitely a plus! You get to talk to people around the world and get to know their culture and basic language. Dining out is another enjoyable thing to do in Vancouver. There are many foreign restaurants you can choose from and you encounter many people from different cultural backgrounds. I sure hope I get a job here and settle down because I would hate to leave this city! There is no doubt that Vancouver is one of the best places to live in on this planet!!

Next week you’ll get a chance to view some of the photos capturing some of my most memorable moments this year, so stay tuned!
