How to celebrate Halloween in Vancouver

For Halloween this year, I went to VanDusen Botanical Garden for their Halloween illumination called “VanDusen Glow” with my Korean friend as the Christmas illumination at the garden last year fascinated me.
I had a class which ended at 9:20 pm last Halloween and I was not able to enjoy Halloween on the day of, so I was looking forward to Halloween this year. Unfortunately, this year I had a sociology midterm exam which finished at the same time as last year’s class. So I took the pleasure of going to VanDusen the day before Halloween.
The theme of the illumination was Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland which was my favorite story when I was little. There were so many characters such as Alice, the Queen of Hearts, Mad Hatter, White Rabbit, Cheshire Cat and so on. I like the colorful flower illumination.
Some visitors were dressed in Halloween costume, and I could enjoy seeing their nice costumes. But I should have dressed up, too! I enjoyed the magical atmosphere as well as the illumination and refreshed myself before exams. I’m glad that there are lots of amazing places in Vancouver to relieve my exhaustion due to studying.
I hope I don’t have any classes on Halloween next year and I can be dressed up. Moreover, I want to carve pumpkins because I have never made a jack-o’-lantern before. I can’t wait for Christmas illumination at VanDusen Botanical Garden. But, before that, I have final exams which I wish are not coming.
